The TBT3-UDV's downstream Thunderbolt port can be part of a dual-display arrangement, but Plugable emphasizes that the computer determines how many video streams reach the dock. Some Thunderbolt 3 host designs provide two displays through one connection, while others provide only one.

This is a purchasing question as well as a troubleshooting question. If the computer specification does not clearly state its capability, ask its manufacturer before assuming a multi-output dock solves the requirement. The dock cannot generate an extra native stream that the host hardware does not supply through that connection.
