Reset Dock Power During a Clean DisplayLink Reinstall
For a Windows DisplayLink docking station behaving unexpectedly, Plugable recommends removing both the host connection and external power before cleaning the software installation. Disconnecting the power lets the dock reset while old DisplayLink components are removed. Reconnecting everything immediately would skip part of that sequence.

After running the cleaner and restarting Windows, install the recommended driver. Restore dock power before reconnecting the host cable, then retest. Keep the order available for support staff maintaining multiple workstations, since a driver reinstall performed around a continuously connected dock may leave a different starting state.
Plugable's Windows repair sequence treats the dock and its driver as parts of one connection.
